How long does it take to receive material through Interlibrary Loan?

Answer

Articles are often received within a day or two, but plan on at least three business days to be safe.

You should allow at least 2 weeks for a physical item (book, video) to be delivered.

ILL turnaround times depends on many factors, including:

  • availability of the requested item
  • location of the lending library
  • the way that the item is shipped (first class, priority mail, or library rate)

Feel free to contact the ILL department if you want an update on the status of a particular request.
